I care about the small things in an interface. The spacing that finally feels right, the pattern that behaves the same way everywhere, the state nobody thought to design for. Consistency isn’t a style preference to me; it’s how an interface earns trust. And I keep coming back to inclusivity: if a thoughtful, user-centered decision means more people can actually use what we built, that’s the decision worth making.

Good design intent is easy to lose between a mockup and a shipped screen, so I try to be the person who holds onto it. That means asking designers what a detail is really for, asking product what a user is trying to get done, and staying in the conversation with QA and the engineers on either side of me until the built thing matches the intent, not just approximately, but actually.

Outside of work I’m usually at a movie, in a book, at a concert, or somewhere new. It’s not separate from the job: paying attention to how a story sets up what happens next, or how a crowd finds its way through an unfamiliar place, is the same muscle I use to think about people moving through a product.
